We have purchased the waffle weave chucks aka specimen disks from Thermo
Electron, formerly Shandon, and cut off the stems to match length of stems
on the chucks that come with the cryostat in order to fit in the holder (
they cannot be too long!). Did this at home myself with a vice and good
hacksaw!!
These are also available from Electron Microscopy Sciences, go to their
website, histology products.
