[Histonet] Elastic Trichrome - any good protocol out there not involving microwave???

Paul,
The Van Gieson counterstain IS a trichrome!
It also has the advantage of not requiring the Bouin pretreatment.
An excellent alternative to Verhoff, is the Miller elastic stain which also 
incorporates the Van Gieson.
