[Histonet] PLP Fixation

We have a research project in which all the tissues are fixed in 
periodate-lysine-paraformaldehyde (PLP).  The question has arisen as to how 
long in advance to use can the solution be made? and the solution turns 
yellow after approx. 24 hours.  Is this solution still usable?   Thank you 
for your help.
