Histo Jock's explanation of the effect of heat on tissue cores alerts us to the possible loss of antigenicity in cores exposed to heat in the preparation of the recipient block. The reasons certainly seem very plausible. 

We have discussed the possibility that the water bath can also have an adverse effect on some antigens as well as other cellular molecules..
