Just an FYI----
All of those labs that is using the FDA approved protocol for Her2 should 
only be using formalin on the processors and for fixation.  We use the following 
protocol and it works great.

10% NBF 2 hours
10% NBF 2 hours
70% ethanol 45 minutes
80% ethanol 45 minutes
95% ethanol 45 minutes
100% ethanol 45 minutes
100% ethanol 45 minutes
100% ethanol/xylene mix 45 minutes
xylene 45 minutes
xylene 45 minutes
paraplast 30 minutes
paraplast 30 minutes
paraplast 30 minutes
paraplast 30 minutes

This protocol works great on fatty tissue as well, but again the section size 
must be reasonable ( no more than 4 mm)
